She Is Innocent And
Needs Your Help!
I desperately need legal help. A reduction in sentence,
clemency
pardon, or DNA testing to prove I wasn't in the room when the
crime
occurred. Texas has a law that requires the state to pay the
person who
is proven innocent $85,000.00 a year for each year they were
wrongfully
incarcerated. I've been here 18 years. They also pay
$25,000.00 a
year benefits, plus health insurance for life.
The following information will be helpful to attorneys wanting to help me:
Cause No. 10,846
County: Marion County, Jefferson, TX
Sherriff: McCay now, but Sheriff Thomas at the time of arrest.
Date of Arrest: November 20, 1992
Date of Conviction: October 8, 1993
District Clerk: Janie McCay
District Attorney: Bill Gleason now, but at the time of case/conviction, James Finstrom
Judge: Garrison, stepped down from case
Judge Khoury visiting Judge from Gregg County oversaw trial
Texas
does not pay inmates for working and there is no way I can earn
money to pay for legal help while I am incarcerated.
I am certified with the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as
a
literary braille transcriber. I transcribe school/college
textbooks
into braille for blind students. When I am released, I will
be able to
earn a living from home by transcription. My mother is a
widow and
needs me home. My family misses me as much as I miss
them. We have
waited almost 2 decades for this nightmare to end. If it were
not for
God's grace, I couldn't have survived.
