Revival

April 6, 1995, I had been here for 2 years.  There was a tent revival here.  I
was walking by it and heard music coming from inside and decided to go
that night.  I was not raised going to church.  My father was against
it, and refused to let my mother go or to take me, so I had no Christian
background, except my great-grandmother reading me the Bible when I was
little.  When I was grown and tried to read it myself, I didn't
understand it.  I wasn't expecting too much when I went.

There was nothing left of my life.  My house was gone, my husband had
divorced me, my business was sold to pay my lawyer, my children hadn't
written me, and I felt broken to pieces, helpless, and like I couldn't
get any lower than I was.

We were all directed where to sit in the tent; chairs had been set up in rows.

Mike Barber Ministries were here.  Kenneth Copeland came onto the makeshift platform.

He was dressed in worn jeans and a plaid shirt.  In his hands, he held a worn
Bible.  He simply began reading God's Word to us.  At last, I
understood!  I got it!  Jesus died on the cross for sinners like me.  He
said all have sinned and come short of the glory, that I needed to be
saved.  All it took was for me to believe in my heart that Jesus was the
Son of God, that he died on the cross for our sins, and on the third
day rose again.  He stood there reading scripture after scripture.  The
words came like an arrow right into my heart.  he asked if we knew where
we would go if we died that minute.  If we wanted to be saved and go
to heaven and believed God's Word, to pray the prayer after him.  I
stood up along with a lot of others and we prayed the prayer of
salvation with Brother Copeland.  I was saved!  I knew it!

We were allowed to go to the chapel and look at teaching/preaching
videos anytime we weren't at work, so I went.  I would pause the video
and look up the scriptures to see for myself.  I studied Kenneth and
Gloria Copeland's tapes, Dwight Moody's, Billy Graham's, and too many to
name.

November 12, 1995, I was baptized in the chapel here by Chaplain Crosby.  My life was new, praise the Lord!
