Don't Wait

People have made the earth such an evil place

Lord, You're the only hope for the human race.

Children killed, beaten, starving today

Living under bridges in the U.S.A.

People give so little

and have so much

Lord, teach us to share with You're loving touch.

In the wrong place at the wrong time

No one to turn to

No one kind.

Where do you go when no one believes you

Straight to Jesus, who redeems you.

He's our Hope, He's our Plan

Sent from God to save man.

Better listen up, don't begrudge

Because when He comes back

It'll be to judge.

Time's running out, don't delay

Turn to Jesus- the Truth, the Light, the Way.

People search the world over

For eternal youth and life

And all the while they have it

In faith in Jesus Christ.

Don't wait til desolation causes you to look around

Til there's no hope to be found.

Call on Jesus this very minute

Because if you wait til tomorrow, there's no guarantee you'll be in it.

Tears in the Rain

Can sorrow be erased

Like tears in the rain?

Does love have to end

In a heart being slain?

Is life just one

Long disappointment

Or is it truly awaiting

A Divine heavenly appointment?

Can a heart broken

Into many pieces

Be patched, renewed,

And know joy that never ceases?

Can a bridge once crossed

Crumble behind

With only a new future

Left to find?

Will God in His mercy

Find favor with me?

Will my soul filled with love

Be what he will see?

Can sorrow be erased

Like tears in the rain?

The glory of God

Erases the pain.

The Pecan Tree

Remembering when the trees

were so small

Looking at them now

So stately and tall

Towering above each building

Shiny leaves, new pecans wielding

Sunlight on the leaves' reflection

Giving the appearance of white refraction

Breezes causing their bending

Searching my mind to recall

The feel of the bark

Put together of so many pieces so small

It can be taken apart bit by bit

Or cut down, made into a chair

For someone to sit

However once down, it can't be

reconstructed as before

The mystery of its growth

And existence gone forevermore

A home for birds, animals, maybe an ant

Its limbs giving shade, shelter

Protection, and nourishment to the creatures people can't

Longing to be a caterpillar

Curled up on a sun-warmed leaf

Awaiting the day to become a butterfly

And from the pecan tree leave

to soar into the sky

Upon the breath of the Most High.
